In keeping with UAE “Reading Month,” the non-profit Kalimat Foundation, based in the United Arab Emirates, has given 400 Arabic-language books to Palestinian children living in Emirates Humanitarian City (EHC) in Abu Dhabi as part of its mission to empower impoverished children and protect their right to read.
Mubarak Falah Al Qahtani, the official spokesperson for Emirates Humanitarian City, hosted Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, the former minister and vice president of the Kalimat Foundation Board of Trustees, during her visit to the city. Amna Al Mazmi, the director of the Kalimat Foundation, members of the foundation’s staff, and representatives from Multiply Group, the Abu Dhabi-based investment holding company that generously funded the donation, were also present.
The donation is part of the “Pledge a Library” campaign, which aims to support children’s educational journeys and guarantee their access to knowledge. As part of this program, engaging activities such as interactive workshops, recreational events, and cultural sessions were organized, and portable libraries with a variety of books for various age groups were supplied. 50 youngsters between the ages of 6 and 10 were invited to the visit, which aimed to promote their intellectual and cultural growth as well as instill a love of reading.
This program demonstrates the Kalimat Foundation’s dedication to making sure kids have access to books and the chance to further their education and cultural development, especially in settings that need extra help.
