Following their evacuation from Israel, 102 French nationals boarded a French military plane and landed in Cyprus on Tuesday. The plane travelled from Tel Aviv to Larnaca, according to Clélia Chevrier Kolačko, the French ambassador to Cyprus. We are providing them with refuge here in Larnaca, therefore I truly need to thank the Cypriot government. Kolačko added, “They will return to Paris tomorrow.”
According to the ambassador, the flight was organised by France’s Foreign Ministry, and more are scheduled to arrive in Cyprus on Wednesday. When the missiles began to fly on June 8, the first day of the conflict between Israel and Iran, Jeremie Khiat said he had just arrived in Israel for a vacation with friends and family, 15 days prior.
He claimed that although the French embassy informed them that a military plane would transport them out of Ben Gurion Airport on Tuesday, the initial intention was to escape to Egypt by bus on Monday. The Parisian expressed his relief upon leaving. Everyone is doing fantastic, but there were a couple really frightening assaults, Khiat said.
Since the conflict began, Cyprus has emerged as a crucial transit location for those who were evacuated from Israel and sent back to their home countries. A cruise liner carrying evacuees has carried thousands of Israeli people who are detained overseas to Cyprus in hopes of catching a flight or returning home.
