His Highness. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister as well as Ruler of Dubai, visited the 29th Dubai World Cup on Saturday at the historic Meydan Racecourse.
Sheikh Mohammed was joined at the prestigious global event by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, as well as Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance.
Speaking on the event, Sheikh Mohammed stated that the Dubai World Cup’s continued global interest since its inception in 1996 shows the UAE’s renowned reputation in various industries, including sports. He emphasised the country’s emergence as a global betting destination, which is fuelled by world-class infrastructure, organisational excellence, and strong international relationships that bring together top owners, trainers, and riders from all over the world.
Sheikh Mohammed added, “We are very proud of the Dubai World Cup’s unique position among the world’s finest horse racing events, regardless of prize money, competition quality, or worldwide reach. The Dubai World Cup has evolved into a worldwide event where cultures meet, providing as a reminder that sport has the capacity to bring people together and unite nations. Horse racing will always remain an integral part of our tradition, providing a significant link between the past and the future we aim to create.
