Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended its bus-on-demand service to Oud Metha and Barsha Heights. This expansion responds to the growing demand for the service by providing quick and easy daily mobility choices and enhancing traffic flow throughout the emirate.

In Dubai, a city that is seeing tremendous population growth, the Bus-On-Demand service is smooth, effective, and one of the top mass transit options, according to Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency. This expansion, which costs only AED 5 per trip per person, helps address issues with traffic congestion and improves traffic flow.

RTA had extended the service to cover 10 key areas across the emirate in response to growing demand,” Shakri continued. With recent additions to Business Bay in February of last year and Downtown Dubai at the end of 2024, the service was already offered in strategic areas such Al Barsha, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Al Nahda.

“With the most recent expansion covering important areas and allowing seamless travel between the two adjacent zones, the service is experiencing strong demand from a wide segment of public transport users.” The public transport system is strengthened by this integration, which also guarantees commuters safer and quicker travel times.
