His Highness the President In an attempt to further their shared interests and advance the growth and prosperity of their respective populations, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, talked about their fraternal relations and prospects to strengthen collaboration between the UAE and Iraq.

During the Iraqi President’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed greeted him at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed greeted his visitor warmly and called the United Arab Emirates his “second home.”

The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation during the meeting, with a focus on renewable energy and the economic, investment, and development sectors. They also looked into ways to develop these areas of cooperation further.

Both presidents highlighted the importance of diplomatic initiatives that support the aspirations of the region’s peoples for security, stability, and development, as well as the necessity of a clear route towards a comprehensive and long-lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

The strength of the UAE-Iraq relationship and the UAE’s steadfast support for Iraq’s stability and its citizens’ hopes for development and prosperity were reiterated by Sheikh Mohamed.

He reaffirmed the two nations’ shared will to look into new areas of collaboration, especially in the development sector. In light of recent events in the region, His Highness also emphasised the UAE’s desire to improve coordination and cooperation with Iraq in order to further shared interests and promote stability and security in the area.
