Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, declared that Kyiv will do “anything” to move the EU membership talks forward. In this manner, no one can stop Ukraine. Unity is the key. For our part, we will stop at nothing. “All other leaders must support us,” he declared during the Danish EU Presidency inauguration ceremony in Aarhus.

Zelenskyy was joined in speaking by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Frederiksen promised to back Ukraine’s EU membership application.

The goal of Denmark’s EU Council presidency is to exert “maximum pressure” on Hungary to remove its veto of Ukraine’s EU membership talks. The European family and NATO include Ukraine,” Frederiksen stated, adding that Denmark is considering the “best path ahead,” although he did not elaborate.

It comes as the United States opted to stop delivering certain promised air defence missiles and equipment that it had previously promised Ukraine, while Russia is still stepping up its attacks on Ukraine. Zelenskyy did not elaborate when questioned about the military aid halt, but he did say he will talk to US President Donald Trump shortly.
