Despite the intense heat that millions of people are experiencing, Starbucks has already prepared for the colder fall months with its most anticipated annual menu update. It’s in need of the boost. Four days later than last year, and following its most recent debut since 2022, the coffee giant announced that its immensely famous Pumpkin Spice Latte would return to menus on August 26. But the news this year is the earliest Starbucks has given for the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s release date.
As enthusiasts refer to it, the PSL is a best-seller and may be a success that Starbucks might leverage to boost its bottom line. The past several years have been challenging for Starbucks, marked by declining revenues and increased competition.
An earlier Placer.ai research, which measures foot traffic, found that after the PSL was released last year, Starbucks visits were more than 24% more than a normal day and created a “sustained visit spike” that persisted over several days.
A few days before to the drink’s introduction, Starbucks usually announces its arrival. However, the firm is warning a month in advance since Google searches for “pumpkin spice” began earlier this year, and demand in the product increased starting in mid-June instead of mid-July 2024, the company noted.
