In Kyiv on Monday, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Ukrainian counterpart Mykhailo Fedorov inked a deal to begin “Brave Germany,” a collaborative initiative aimed at advancing defense technology and assisting creative start-ups.

Fedorov declared that Germany was now “the world’s leading provider of security support for Ukraine,” according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform. He continued by saying that almost one-third of all aid given to the nation came from Berlin.

Pistorius made an unexpected visit to Kyiv on Monday with the goal of strengthening defense ties between Germany and Ukraine. As part of the nations’ strategic cooperation, Pistorius told the German news agency dpa that the trip will concentrate on growing collaborative military projects and creating new weapon systems.

Mykhailo Fedorov declared on Telegram that Ukraine and Germany had reached an agreement on a new €4 billion defense package following a visit to Berlin last month. The package includes €300 million for Ukrainian deep-strike capabilities as well as funds for several hundred Patriot missiles and 36 IRIS-T launchers to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses.
