Ahead of the verdict, the National Rally (RN) figurehead and the party’s young president, Jordan Bardella, promised to work together no matter what happened. Here’s a message to those who believe that putting barriers in our path is enough to discourage us. “We will never be discouraged,” Le Pen declared.
If the courts forbid her from running in the presidential election, Le has promised to back her protégé Bardella “every day,” “with great energy,” and “with great conviction and confidence.” “I want to reaffirm my full support, my complete friendship, and remind her that I committed myself to her in politics,” Bardella said during the party’s “country banquet” in Liévin, northern France.
The youthful RN president said that he expects “to see her elected president of the Republic in a few months’ time.” France’s National Rally expected at least 1,200 activists to attend its country feast, but several seats remained vacant. Le Pen and Bardella utilized the gathering to dispel rumors of internal division inside the party, where some believe the two leaders disagree.
