BBC News understands that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to return to the United Kingdom. As initially reported by the Daily Telegraph and the Sun, Prince Harry and Meghan plan to relocate from the United States later this month to a private, non-royal property outside of London.

Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are enrolled at a British school and will begin classes in September. King Charles was informed of the move on Sunday. There are currently no plans for Prince Harry or Meghan to resume their careers as working royals.

The Sussexes and their children paid the King a visit at his Highgrove estate in July of this year, but it is understood that the move was not addressed. According to the BBC, the King was unaware of the transfer until last weekend, but he appreciates the opportunity to meet more of the Sussex family in a private and personal role. Prince Harry and Meghan’s official status is expected to remain unchanged, and they will continue to be private individuals.
