A significant update to WhatsApp’s app functionality has been made with the goal of enhancing community group communication. This new feature improves coordination and communication for planning online meetings and events by enabling users to create events directly within their group chats. WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app worldwide, keeps developing new ideas and providing more extensive tools for community involvement.
It’s easy to create an event in WhatsApp. Within their group chats, users can create events using the attachment panel. After choosing an event, users can enter details like its name, description, date, time, and location. Additionally, you can indicate whether a voice or video call will be part of the event. Members of the group receive invitations, which they can review and accept. This integration aims to make gathering management easier within the app.
The creator of an event can edit its details at any time after it is created. All participants who have accepted the invitation are immediately informed of these changes, guaranteeing that everyone is aware of any updates. Though plans for this expansion are still in development, WhatsApp is considering extending this feature beyond the community-specific groups to include regular group chats.
