According to recent research, President Donald Trump’s popularity rating is declining as he approaches his 100th day in office and people become less convinced of his broad initiatives to change the government.
The majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the presidency, according to three surveys released on Sunday. According to CNN, his approval rating, which ranges from 39% to 45% across the three surveys, is the lowest for a newly elected president at the 100-day mark in over 70 years.
According to a CNN/SSRS survey, 41% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency, 39% of American adults approve, and 45% of American adults approve, according to a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll. Compared to when Trump arrived to the White House in January and his favorability ratings increased, the most recent approval numbers represent a significant shift.
Additionally, voters are becoming less confident in Trump’s ability to manage the economy, a central theme of his 2024 presidential campaign that has always been a top concern for them. The financial markets experienced turbulence as a result of his broad tariffs. According to the CNN/SSRS survey, 52 percent of American adults believe that Trump can manage the economy, a 13-point decline from December.
