Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of Adnoc, and Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, co-chaired the third plenary meeting of the UAE-France High-Level Business Council in Paris.

Along with more than 50 Emirati and French entities representing the government, semi-government, and private sectors, the meeting was attended by Eric Lombard, the French Minister of Economics and Finance; Laurent Saint-Martin, the French Minister of Foreign Trade; Mariam Bint Mohammed Al Muhairi, the Head of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court; and Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, the UAE Ambassador to the French Republic.

In his introductory remarks, Dr. Al Jaber expressed the greetings of the UAE leadership, reaffirmed the UAE’s more than 50-year-old bilateral ties with France, and emphasised the commitment to further fortify these ties within the framework of a strategic partnership in order to fulfil the two countries’ shared goals of sustainable economic and social growth.

Following the historic signing of the “UAE-France Framework for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence” Agreement, which was witnessed by French President Emmanuel Macron and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dr. Al Jaber emphasised that the meeting is crucial for both countries. By creating a 1-gigawatt infrastructure, this framework seeks to improve digital infrastructure and aid in the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
