According to BBC News, Gregg Wallace was fired as a MasterChef presenter following an investigation into allegations of wrongdoing. It comes as 50 more individuals have come forward with new allegations against the TV host, including that he pulled his pants down in front of another MasterChef employee and touched another. Wallace disputes the allegations.
An independent legal firm investigating the accusations against him on behalf of MasterChef’s production company Banijay is anticipated to provide a report soon. Wallace said in a long Instagram post on Tuesday that the assessment absolved him of “the most serious and sensational allegations” made against him.
I acknowledge that, on occasion, my language and sense of humour were inappropriate. I apologise without reservation for that. However, he noted, “I was never the caricature that is now being sold for clicks.”
The BBC News reporter was accused of using “uncorroborated tittle tattle” in their reporting. The Banijay report has not been viewed by BBC News. Gregg Wallace has been the face of the BBC One cookery program MasterChef and one of the most well-known presenters on British television for 20 years.
