Aside from the expenses of setting up a marital abode, people getting ready for marriage encounter a number of other financial obstacles. Depending on a number of variables, including as the venue’s location, capacity, and equipment, the cost of catering for the people attending the wedding ceremony, and the fees for hiring a professional photographer, these costs can vary significantly. Additionally, people could have to pay for the services of a beauty specialist who might be hired to dress the bride for the event. On her wedding day, a bride can engage a beautician for between Dhs 6,000 and Dhs 8,000. Usually, the bride receives this payment in exchange for having a lovely “look” for no more than three hours. The beauty specialist must maintain the bride’s hair and cosmetics, which may have already cost thousands of dirhams to create.

Several women voiced dissatisfaction when they asked cosmetics and hair stylists who specialise in beauty services how much their services cost. The rates, which varied from Dhs 6,000 to Dhs 8,000, astounded them. They insisted that the Consumer Protection Department stop such inflated pricing from existing and that the Department of Economic Development impose a fair cap for these prices.
