Israel’s defence minister warned of a “prolonged” battle with the Islamic Republic, while Iran declared it would not renew discussions over its nuclear program while under assault. During his meeting with European diplomats in Geneva, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was pushed to resume diplomatic relations with the United States on his nation’s nuclear program.

Eyal Zamir, his Israeli counterpart, warned of “difficult days ahead” and stated in a video message that his nation should be prepared for a “prolonged campaign.” The Israeli military announced a fresh round of assaults against Iranian missile launch and storage facilities as fighting continued into the night after Iran fired missiles at central Israel.

Noises of explosions were detected near Tel Aviv, Israel. A building in central Israel was reportedly set on fire by falling shrapnel. But only until Israel’s “aggression is stopped” would Iran be willing to discuss talks, according to Araghchi.

Israel’s assaults were against international law, he said, and Iran’s nuclear program was harmless. “Iran will continue to exercise its legitimate right of self-defence,” he continued. I declare unequivocally that Iran’s defence capabilities cannot be compromised,” he stated. Israel will continue to strike nuclear facilities until they were “dismantled,” the country’s envoy to the UN said, accusing Iran of having a “genocidal agenda” and constituting a constant threat.
