Marco Rubio Takes Mike Waltz’s Position as Trump’s National Security Advisor

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has declared his intention to move his national security advisor, Mike Waltz, from his present position and designate him as his ambassador to the United Nations. Following a morning of fervent speculation that Waltz and his deputy national security adviser, Alex Wong, had been fired, the announcement was made on Thursday.

On his Truth Social account, Trump announced, “I am pleased to nominate Mike Waltz as the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations.” Mike Waltz has put a lot of effort into prioritising the interests of our country. I’m confident he’ll act similarly in his new position.

According to Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will continue to serve as the nation’s top diplomat while taking on the position of national security advisor. Trump declared, “Together, we will keep fighting tirelessly to make America and the world safe again.

The impact of an incident in which Waltz seems to have added a journalist to a secret discussion on the app Signal where information about US military assaults was discussed has hurt Waltz’s image. However, Trump has openly supported Waltz and declined to penalise him over the Signal affair.
