Pre-release information leaks have always been a feature of Google’s Pixel smartphone line, and it looks like this pattern will continue with the upcoming Pixel 9 series. These new flagship devices’ designs and technical details have already been made public in large quantities. Google appears to have made the surprising decision to release an official YouTube teaser video to avoid any rumors. In addition to introducing the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold model, this video offers a glimpse of the Pixel 9 Pro.
The tech giant will hold an event on August 13 at its California headquarters to reveal more information about the flagship Pixel 9 series and other upcoming products. The new teaser confirms some of the previously leaked design changes.
The most notable change is that Google appears to have replaced the full-width camera bar from the Pixel 8 with a smaller, pill-shaped camera module for the Pixel 9 series. This change in design language is a significant divergence from the aesthetics of recent Pixel designs. With this official preview, Google seems to be trying to take control of the story in an effort to lessen the effects of unauthorized leaks and rumors about its future devices.
