British Transport Police have issued an appeal for information after a “racially aggravated” assault in central London. Officers released an image of two individuals they wish to speak with in connection to the incident, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. on October 11 at Bond Street Tube station.
According to police, a woman was entering the station with her sister and two young children when the pushchair she was pushing collided with a woman walking ahead. A man then allegedly shouted racial abuse at the family, while the woman reportedly pulled the victim’s hair. When the victim tried to defend herself, the man brandished a small bottle, claimed it contained pepper spray, and sprayed it toward the family. The woman allegedly continued shouting insults and making obscene gestures before the pair left the scene.
CNN identified the two people in the released image as MAGA influencer Melissa Rein Lively and her partner, German financier Philipp Ostermann. The British Transport Police did not state whether the couple is suspected of involvement, only that they may have information relevant to the investigation.
