When US President Donald Trump gave the longest State of the Union address ever, he didn’t give a clear signal about what he would do next in the Middle East. The world’s strongest commander-in-chief chose not to make his full case for probable military action against Iran during the largest buildup of American strength in the Middle East since the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.

Twenty years ago, President George W. Bush traveled all throughout the United States and beyond to set the stage for what would become a significant military operation, even though the intelligence he had was wrong.

Trump may have thought it wasn’t worth bringing up because his political base, who chose him to keep out of wars that last forever, is far more concerned with the economy and the immigration struggle just a few months before the midterm elections.

The third important round of talks this month will take place in Geneva on Thursday. It is thought that this will be very important for his decision-making.A diplomat familiar with this procedure said that if President Trump doesn’t receive an acceptable text from Tehran through his envoys, he will likely authorize some kind of military action soon after.
