Reliance Industries and Tata Group, owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, have once again earned a place on TIME magazine’s prestigious list of the 100 World’s Most Influential Companies for 2024. Reliance was praised by TIME as “India’s Juggernaut.”
Reliance is listed on TIME for the second time with this appearance. The company in charge of the group’s digital assets, Jio Platforms, debuted on the first TIME 100 Most Influential Companies List in 2021.
TIME I classified the featured companies into five categories: Leaders, Disruptors, Innovators, and Pioneers. Reliance was placed under the “Titans” category.
Tata was categorized with Reliance as one of the “Titans” and Serum Institute as one of the “Pioneers.” According to reports, the conglomerate led by Mukesh Ambani has diversified its interests by venturing into energy, retail, telecommunications, and other areas, making its chairman the wealthiest person in Asia.The article also noted that Reliance won a fiercely contested contest in February to lead India’s quickly expanding streaming market. This was made possible by an 8.5 billion dollar strategic merger agreement with Disney’s Indian operations.
