A new artificial intelligence (AI) feature that will let users create custom radios with the aid of an experimental tool has been observed being tested by YouTube Music. With the help of text-based prompts, users can now describe their preferred music and the AI will create a radio station featuring songs that fit their description. Before, users could only make a radio station based on a song or an artist and receive recommendations for similar songs. According to a previous report, YouTube is discussing with big record labels about using copyrighted music to create artificial intelligence tools for its Music app.
The feature has been labelled “experimental,” according to an image the Reddit user posted. Users are instructed to “Ask for music any way you like” in the suggestion’s text. An AI-generated radio station can be seen in a second screenshot.
Together with a brief synopsis of the radio station, the feature also seems to include the title of the playlist. The screenshot that Redditor shared also features several songs related to the user’s requested theme. Several prompt suggestions for different genres of music are also shown at the bottom.
