On the second anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack, US President Donald Trump stated Tuesday that there was a “real chance” of a peace agreement in Gaza, as Israeli negotiators and Hamas held indirect talks.
Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in the Oval Office that they were “very close to making a deal on the Middle East that will bring peace to the Middle East.” Trump claimed that US negotiators were part of the current negotiations in Egypt.
On Monday, the White House announced that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff would be involved. Trump stated, “There’s a genuine possibility that we could take action.
I believe that there is a chance for peace to prevail in the Middle East. It goes far farther than the situation in Gaza. We want the hostages released right away. Almost every nation in the world has backed the plan, and our team is currently there while another team just left. Trump also stated that if Israel and Hamas do reach an agreement on a ceasefire to end the war, the US would do “everything possible to make sure everyone adheres to the deal.
