It appears that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be showcasing his nation’s newest military equipment in a pomp-filled parade as he extends a warm welcome to numerous international leaders this week. As has been the case with such days in the past, North Korea has kept plans for Friday’s celebration of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s 80th anniversary tight under wraps.
The South Korean military, however, has seen indications that Kim has been preparing for months for a large-scale parade in Pyongyang, the country’s capital, which might take place at night and involve tens of thousands of people.
The North Korean dictatorship has long been known for its gigantic exhibitions of carefully planned propaganda, which include large audiences and well-practiced acts, especially during significant anniversaries.
Combining communism with the words, sayings, and beliefs of the Kim dynasty, who have imposed their totalitarian rule on the nation for three generations, the Workers’ Party of Korea is the only political party in power in North Korea. Military observers closely monitor the things that North Korea decides to display at these occasions.
