According to Thailand’s prime minister, a massive fire that destroyed a Bangkok pub has claimed at least 27 lives. When firefighters arrived at the scene just after midnight, they saw customers escaping through the venue’s front door, which was coated in flames.
An unverified video shows a woman falling to the ground and then getting up to flee as flames shoot out of the pub. At the site, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul informed reporters that 27 people had died and dozens had been transported to the hospital. He emphasized that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
Reporters were informed by Charnivirakul that he asked a musician who was performing at the time of the fire what transpired.According to him, there was a fire at the cut-out switch, and things quickly got out of hand. Everyone attempted to escape the smoke and fire while there was blasting.We discovered the majority of the bodies in the restroom at the back of the building since many of them were unable to escape and sought refuge there from the smoke and flames. According to Thai outlet the Daily News, the bar, known locally as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, is a well-known restaurant and entertainment venue in the Chatuchak District.
