Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday, a White House official confirmed, amid increased efforts to resolve the war with Russia. President Zelensky is scheduled to meet with President Trump at the White House on Tuesday,” a White House official told AFP on Friday, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Zelenskyy claimed this week that he spoke with Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and the US president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as part of efforts to restart stalled peace talks aimed at ending the four-year conflict. US-led efforts to end the war have stalled as Washington focuses on the conflict with Iran.
This week, the Ukrainian president met with Laura Loomer, a right-wing US influencer and Trump ally, in another sign of improved relations. The 33-year-old conservative commentator, with millions of social media followers, has recently softened her position on Ukraine.”This is everyday for every Ukrainian, and I feel like such an a hole for minimizing Ukrainians’ struggles over the last five years,” she said of the encounter.
