The time is running out, according to William, Prince of Wales, who described the task of preserving the world’s seas as “like none that we have faced before: Urgency and optimism, in my opinion, can spur the necessary action to alter the path of history. As the Earthshot Prize creator, I witness exceptional examples of concepts, inventions, and technology that use the ocean’s power while preserving its life, making me an optimist.

“For many people, it is heartbreaking to see how human activity is turning our oceans’ base from lush marine forests to desolate deserts. Even if it is a stark reminder of the state of our seas, leaving it out of sight is no longer an option. As ever, the urgency to take action to save our ocean is evident,” Prince William continued.

Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, blasted nations who reduce spending and reject climate change in his concluding remarks. We’ve been hearing that the ocean problem, the threat to biodiversity, and climate change are all subjective,” Macron stated. And he went on: Since it’s scientifically proven and not an opinion, I’m going to inform you that we don’t have the authority to do that.

“We have a duty to mobilise because the science is clear and the facts are there,” the French president added, hinting to possible events shortly. Inevitability does not exist. Therefore, we will mobilise the world community and make significant choices in the following days with a few states.
