In keeping with the UAE’s leadership goal and demonstrating the country’s leadership in sustainability, the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has introduced a new Dhs100 banknote. It is composed of polymer, has cutting-edge security measures, and has creative designs.
The CBUAE’s Third Issuance of the National Currency Project includes the new Dhs100 banknote. Its design showcases the UAE’s remarkable success, with cultural and developmental motifs depicting the country’s transformation into a transcontinental economic and commercial hub.
The new banknote’s design uses multiple hues of red, giving it a unique appearance. The CBUAE preserved the current denomination’s colour features to guarantee public recognition. Additionally, the design uses innovative printing processes to generate designs and inscriptions that embrace the UAE nation’s identity.
The new currency’s front depicts the historical and cultural landmark Um Al Quwain National Fort. This fort connects the past and present and is a national attraction. The back depicts the Port of Fujairah, one of the biggest ports in the nation and a significant hub for shipping and maritime transportation.
It also highlights the Etihad Rail, a railway system that links the seven Emirates and stretches to the nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council. With its integrated infrastructure and logistics, the Etihad Rail is essential to fostering social cohesion and promoting sustainable economic growth.
