During the official visit of the FNC delegation, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, in the parliament’s Strasbourg headquarters. Prior to the meeting, Metsola formally welcomed Ghobash and the accompanying delegation to the European Parliament’s plenary session in front of members.

This gesture demonstrated the UAE’s distinguished position within European institutions and the increasing trajectory of parliamentary cooperation. The two parties talked about how to improve coordination on regional and global issues of mutual concern while fortifying parliamentary collaboration and creating institutional discussion mechanisms that serve the common interests of the UAE and the EU.

Both sides emphasized the significance of parliamentary cooperation in promoting security and strengthening common ideals and values during the discussions, which also covered the most recent regional developments and the effects of the recent escalation in the region on regional and global security and stability.
