Itiyadi Foodstuff Trading LLC, located in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, and holding trade licence number CN-4761612, was administratively shut down by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) for violating Law No. 2 for 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the legislation issued thereunder, as well as for posing a health risk to the public.
The ADAFSA clarified that the food control report indicated that the facility’s failure to meet food safety standards was the reason for the administrative closure decision. This included the recurrence of high-risk items that directly affected food safety, inadequate hygiene, and the discovery of insects within the facility.
The administrative closure order will be in place until the institution fixes the violations and complies with all standards, according to the ADAFSA. The ADAFSA stated that all facilities, regardless of their nature and food products, are subject to routine inspection by the ADAFSA’s inspectors. The administrative closure decision and the discovery of violations came as part of the inspection efforts aimed at strengthening the food safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ensuring that all facilities meet food safety requirements.
