Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global hub for food and water will be expedited with the help of a steering committee that includes the Ministries of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), and Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE). Abu Dhabi’s business environment is strong enough to support the development and commercialization of innovative solutions, positioning the city as a leader in the future of food and water.

“Climate change and environmental degradation are putting enormous pressure on our natural resources,” stated Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. We work together to overcome obstacles and improve our food and water systems. This agreement is an excellent illustration of how we work together with our partners to create an environment favorable to expanding our food and water industries. The United Arab Emirates has excelled in this area. According to a United Nations report, the United Arab Emirates has attained one of the best regional outcomes, averaging 100% in safe drinking water and sanitation services and 80% in integrated water resources management.

Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, highlighted that the MoU signed between the Ministry and ADIO aims to attract international companies specializing in advanced technology, particularly in water desalination, which faces global challenges.
