According to Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA), the Israeli military launched more attacks on southern Beirut, known as Dahiyeh, with one strike landing in the Ghobeiry neighborhood.
The IDF reported “precise” strikes on a Hezbollah command center in Dahiyeh, which was used to advance “terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers” in southern Lebanon. Smoke could be seen rising over the Lebanese capital.”All targets belonged to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, in response to Hezbollah’s firing on Israeli territory,” stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Sunday. The IDF also stated in a social media post that efforts were taken ahead to the strikes to “mitigate harm to civilians”.
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump expressed unhappiness with the timing of the Beirut strikes. He acknowledged Israel’s right to self-defense, but maintained that the attack it was responding to was insignificant and should not have occurred.
According to another IDF tweet, the Hezbollah rockets fell near the settlements of Shomera and Shlomi, and they joined two other projectiles that passed into Israeli territory over the weekend as part of continued attempts to damage Israeli people.
