Not surprisingly, the fight between 27-year-old Jake Paul and 58-year-old Mike Tyson was disappointing to the thousands of fans at the Dallas stadium and the millions who streamed the live event on Netflix. This is because the fight was not a battle of power and fury between the two boxers. In the 1980s, Tyson became a legend due to his raw power and pent-up wrath from his deprived childhood and adolescence, which he intuitively exhibited in the ring. Paul, on the other hand, was a showman in addition to his boxing credentials in an era of social media.
Was it a phony bout that was unworthy of two boxing pros? The stats of 11 Tyson punches against Paul’s 71 indicated pretty strongly that it lacked actual punch. Tyson was straightforward and truthful. He was having knee problems. It also caused him to slow down. However, he was unwilling to look for reasons why he had lost. “Yeah, but I can’t use it as an excuse,” he said. I wouldn’t be here if I did. His motto was, “I knew he was a good fighter,” he added. I arrived to fight, and he was ready. I merely proved myself wrong, not anyone else. I’m not the type of guy who lives for the approval of others. I’m content with my abilities.
