Russian media said that Russian officials detained a minor over an alleged terror threat to Moscow’s Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve. The US Embassy in Russia issued a security notice on Saturday, warning of a “credible threat of a mass casualty event” at the site. The embassy said Washington was working with Russian officials on a response.
The embassy did not give any precise specifics, but said people should “avoid the area, stay alert and avoid crowds. On Sunday, Russian official media published a statement from the Federal Security Service (FSB) saying that a child had been arrested in connection with the threat.
In the course of the operation, a minor Russian citizen was detained who posted photos of himself on the short-video platform TikTok in tactical clothing, a balaclava, a cap, sunglasses, headphones and an object resembling an automatic weapon, as well as photos taken at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve with the caption ‘I found a place,’ it said.
For technical reasons” the grounds of the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve were closed and guests evacuated Saturday evening. It was back to normal on November 1, Russian media reports said. The German Embassy in Russia has allegedly also warned of a probable security threat at the museum reserve.
