Late Tuesday night, US President Donald Trump contacted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer his condolences for the deaths of at least 26 persons and 20 injured in the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir.
In the early hours of Wednesday, Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), posted on the microblogging platform X to say that Trump has expressed his sincere condolences and strongly denounced the attack.

President Trump vehemently denounced the terror assault and pledged his full support for India’s efforts to apprehend those responsible for this horrific act. “The United States and India are united in our fight against terrorism,” he continued. The US president also sent a statement on his Truth Social platform shortly after the horrific assault, describing the event as “deeply disturbing.
The United States is united with India in its fight against terrorism,” he wrote. We offer our prayers for the deceased’s souls as well as the healing of the wounded. We extend our sincere condolences and offer our complete support to Prime Minister Modi and the people of India.
