President Donald Trump has arrived in the United Kingdom for his highly anticipated second state visit, marked by a blend of royal ceremony, trade discussions, and international diplomacy. Before departing from the US on Air Force One, Trump called the trip an honor and praised his “perfect” relationship with the UK. He hinted at refining trade ties and highlighted a multi-billion-dollar US technology investment deal to coincide with his visit.

Trump emphasized that the primary purpose of the journey was to meet “my friend” King Charles, describing him as “an elegant gentleman who represents the country so well.” Upon landing at Stansted Airport, the president was officially welcomed by Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper before heading to Winfield House, the US ambassador’s residence, for the night.

Today, the focus shifts to Windsor Castle, which Trump called “the ultimate” setting. King Charles and Queen Camilla will host him, along with Prince William and Catherine, in a program of British pageantry including a gun salute, military inspection, and a carriage procession within the Windsor estate. The president, known for his admiration of royalty, reiterated his respect for King Charles, saying, “He’s been a friend of mine for a long time, and everybody respects him, and they love him.
