Under the conditions of the ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States, Hamas claims to have turned over the bodies of two additional Israeli hostages. However, it claims that more time and specialized equipment are required to retrieve the remaining victims from the wreckage of Gaza.

According to a statement from the group’s armed wing, it was dedicated to the agreement but had returned all of the hostage bodies it had managed to obtain. In the event that Hamas breaches the agreement, US President Donald Trump has threatened to send Israeli soldiers back into combat in Gaza. The Israeli prime minister’s office announced in a statement that coffins holding the bodies of captives, who were still pending official identification, had been sent to Israel via the Red Cross.

As the relatives of the slain captives will be informed first, the IDF asks the public to use tact and wait for official identification the statement read. The US government does not currently think that Hamas has violated the deal by failing to recover the remains of the other captives, according to senior US advisors who gave an update on the implementation of the 20-point peace plan. The experts maintained that by returning the live captives, Hamas had behaved in good faith and that it was collaborating with many interlocutors to locate and return the hostage remains.
