We are only at the beginning of this transformation, despite the fact that 5G has been revolutionizing worldwide connection. Ericsson released its Ericsson Mobility and ConsumerLab Reports on Tuesday, November 26. The reports that Jasmeet Sethi, head of Ericsson’s ConsumerLab, and Umang Jindal, head of network solutions, software and performance, southeast Asia, Oceania, and India, presented highlight some intriguing trends regarding the growth of the 5G network, changing consumer behavior, and the future.

Jindal described the phenomenal global rise in mobile subscriptions while launching the Mobility report. He stated that by 2030, there will be 9.5 billion mobile subscriptions, up from the current 8.7 billion. “Of these, 3.6 billion will be on standalone (SA) networks, and 6.3 billion will be on 5G networks.” According to Jindal, such significant expenditures in 5G SA networks portend a time of improved connection and innovative services.

India has been at the vanguard of this quick adoption and is a key role in this transition, according to the Ericsson CEO. “India achieved an extraordinary world milestone by launching 5G with a record 95% coverage. In India, we anticipate 270 million 5G subscriptions by the end of 2024, increasing to 970.
