This week, US President Donald Trump traveled to China with a number of prominent executives from the business and technological sectors. Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Tim Cook of Apple, Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX, Larry Fink of BlackRock, and other executives from Meta, Visa, JP Morgan, Boeing, Cargill, and other companies are among those accompanying the president on his official visit to Beijing.
A White House official with knowledge of the preparations told the BBC that Trump will travel with around a dozen US executives. Given that Trump will meet with President Xi Jinping during a period of increasing economic and technological hostility between the two nations, the trip is viewed as significant for the United States.
Given that Nvidia’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) chips are at the center of the US-China conflict, Huang’s late arrival to the group is significant. Along with other industry executives including Larry Ellison of Oracle and Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Huang is a member of Trump’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
