Anush Agarwalla will Compete in the dressage Event for India in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Anush was chosen by EFI ahead of Shruti Vora after a careful evaluation of their most recent performances, where Anush showed a higher average.

India will compete in the dressage event for the first time at the Olympics, as most of its riders have only competed in the eventing categories in previous editions. Since starting the Qualification period last year, Agarwalla has demonstrated consistency, having met the Minimum Eligibility Requirement four times. This month, veteran Shruti Vora achieved the necessary two MERs.

Anush was declared the winner after averaging the candidates in the evaluation. Compared to Shruti, who scored 67.163 percent, he had an average score of 67.695 percent.

The Federation’s qualifying standards state that a rider-horse combination must score at least 67% twice between January 1, 2023, and June 24, 2024, to qualify for the Paris Games.

If more than one athlete is qualified, the athlete with the highest Grand Prix average across the top four events in the previous year will be selected to compete, per EFI selection criteria. Only results from competitions with FEI level 3* and higher are taken into account. These grades must be met.
