According to Diane Rose, president and CEO of Insitu, a division of the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing, the company intends to produce drone parts in the future.

After Insitu’s new Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Centre of Excellence opened at Tawazun Industrial Park in Abu Dhabi, Rose spoke to Khaleej Times. The facility will localize maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), training, and other critical services for the UAE Armed Forces.

With an emphasis on assisting the UAE’s land troops, who are the innovative system’s biggest user, the facility was made possible by Tawazun Council. The goal is to use this facility to offer training and repair and overhaul capabilities. This new facility will strengthen our partnership with the Tawazun Council, enhance the support we provide, and create frequent opportunities for collaborating with other Emirati companies across the defence ecosystem,” Rose said.

Insitu intends to grow in four stages until 2030. The Center for Excellence, which will offer an engine overhaul and training facility, was opened in the first phase. In the last stage, it plans research and development (R&D) projects, local sourcing, an engineering center, and a manufacturing and software center.
