At the company’s annual event, CEO and founder Bhavish Aggarwal revealed future plans for the third unicorn, Krutrim, developed by OlaOla Datalabs_in-article-icon Group. He also revealed plans to create India’s first indigenous family of chips for Edge, general compute, and artificial intelligence.
Bodhi for AI, Sarv for General Compute, and Ojas for Edge are the members of the chip family. By 2026, the startup hopes to release its first chip. In addition, Bodhi 2 will debut by 2028.
For the purpose of developing CPU and AI chips, platforms, and systems, Krutrim said that it has established strategic alliances with Arm and Untether AI.
Additionally, Aggarwal stated that Krutrim plans to increase its data centre capacity from 20 MW to 1 GW by 2028.
The startup said, “Krutrim will be able to offer world-class AI services to India and the world thanks to the data centre, which will be a computing and data storage powerhouse.”
In the midst of quickly shifting technological paradigms, India has a rare chance to emerge as a global leader in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence (AI). India is well-positioned to spearhead the AI revolution, according to Aggarwal, since it provides 20% of the world’s data and has one of the biggest talent pools for tech professionals.
