Emmanuel Macron described it as a “unprecedented” project. The French president’s office said on Monday, August 24, that France and Saudi Arabia had signed a document on a six-billion-euro investment to build three theme parks close to Cergy-Pontoise, which is around thirty km northwest of Paris.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, announced this “colossal” initiative during a two-day visit to France, according to Macron’s office.22,000 new jobs were produced. Not seen since Disneyland Paris. The president of the Republic thanked Saudi Arabia and Qiddiya, one of the numerous companies of the nation’s Public Investment Fund, “for their confidence in our country, in our talents and in our future” in a post on X titled “A new global destination.”

Although it hasn’t been formally announced, the first of the three parks is anticipated to be devoted to this well-known Japanese series. The remaining two parks’ themes are still unknown. The parks will be constructed and inaugurated gradually. The president’s office stated that construction is anticipated to take several years, although it did not provide an opening date.

The president’s office avoided answering questions about giving such a deal to Riyadh in spite of criticism of its human rights record. “At no point, when we attract a project, do we seek to lecture others”it responded.
