According to local sources, a Russian double-tap drone attack on a retail centre in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih has killed at least fifteen people. In the largest mall in the city, an additional 130 individuals were hurt, including 23 children. There are also reports that other persons are stuck in the debris.
The “absolutely cynical and despicable” midday attack in his hometown was executed in “two waves, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the second strike going after the on-site emergency personnel.
The second drone strikes the already-burning shopping mall in the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to dramatic footage confirmed by the BBC. The Russian military has not responded. Oleksandr Hanzha, the regional leader of Dnipropetrovsk, stated on Friday night that there were now 15 verified deaths, including two individuals who passed away in the hospital.
According to him, 29 of the 130 injured individuals were in critical condition. There are concerns that the death toll may increase. Teams of rescuers from four other parts of Ukraine are being sent in an emergency to help search for survivors. Oleksandr Vilkul, the mayor of Kryvyi Rih, described the assailants as “animals” and claimed the Russian drones were operating at “extremely low altitudes” earlier in the day.
