Iran has fired missiles at US bases in the Gulf, and American forces have targeted Iranian drones and radar stations, further testing the precarious ceasefire between the two countries. Four Iranian “one-way attack drones” that were headed for the Strait of Hormuz were shot down by the US military, which claimed that they “posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic”.

According to US Central Command (Centcom), US forces “subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites” in the country’s south “to defend against further attacks. According to Iran’s Irib news agency, Iran reacted by shooting ballistic missiles toward US Navy facilities in Bahrain and two US air bases in Kuwait.

Six of the seven Iranian missiles fired at the two Gulf states were intercepted, and one did not reach its objective, according to Centcom’s first assessments. The ceasefire that has been in effect since April was put in jeopardy a few days ago when the US and Iran exchanged strikes.

Iranian drone attacks on Kuwait’s international airport on Wednesday resulted in one fatality and over sixty injuries, according to local authorities. The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran denied any involvement in the airport attack, asserting that a US missile interceptor’s error was what caused the damage.
