In less than 48 hours, police in Sydney are looking into a second potential mistaken identity murder at the hands of organised crime. Emergency personnel raced to a Merrylands West residence at 15:15 local time on Wednesday after learning that a man in his 40s had been the target of a drive-by gunshot. He passed away there.
A university student in his 20s who had no criminal history was shot during a house invasion in Glen Alpine, in the southwest of the city, at around 03:40 on Tuesday. He passed away there as well.
