Virat Kohli is prepared to launch a new enterprise in the sports industry. On Monday, Kohli announced a collaboration with sportswear company Agilitas Sports, following eight years as an ambassador for athletic apparel brand Puma.
The Indian cricket player confirmed that Agilitas and his personal lifestyle brand, “one8,” have partnered in a passionate social media post. After his eight-year contract with Puma came to an end, Kohli rejected an offer of Rs 300 crore. He reportedly spent Rs 40 crore in one8’s relationship with Agilitas.
When the offer came in and he (Ganguly) explained the force behind it, the manufacturing capabilities, the expertise he has, and the type of people who would be joining, I knew this could be something big, and of course, I wanted to be a part of it,” Kohli said, explaining his decision.
According to Moneycontrol, Ganguly stated that the completed transaction will make Virat a minority shareholder in Agilitas. Virat is not looking for a means to recoup the Rs 300 crore he has let go. He is in it for the long haul and believes that becoming a stakeholder in Agilitas would provide him with significant returns,” Ganguly added.
